Successful Trip to New Orleans for the Folk Alliance International Conference

A very successful trip to New Orleans, Louisiana for the Folk Alliance International Conference (FAIC) where I got to perform and meet lots of people. It was very special meeting Matt Axton (Hoyt's son). We shared many stories of his father, and the fact that we recorded "Just A Thought" in 1977 in Hoyt's recording studio called The Garage. Matt was just a young boy then. Hoyt really helped us out though by mentoring us and giving us reasonable rates. He was one of the few true legends that helped out young talent making their way out in Los Angeles. It was also a pleasure to meet Steve Poltz, who wrote with Jewel and many other artists. It was great to meet other musicians, learn new things about the business, and hear all the other artists' performance!
