Molland, Solem & Miller: Joey Molland's Final Recording — The Chuck Berry Tribute Album
On what would have been Chuck Berry's 100th birthday (October 18, 2026), Phil Solem of The Rembrandts and Jeff Miller join Jacob and Michael on The Vinyl Verdict to talk about Molland, Solem & Miller — their Chuck Berry tribute album, and Joey Molland's final recording. Joey had wanted to make a Chuck Berry record for years. Phil and Jeff talk about how the three of them finally did it: two weeks of live basic tracking in Phil's studio in Nashville, a couple of songs a day with no rehearsal, whittling some 40 candidate songs down to 12, and finishing the record together before Joey passed in March 2025.
